The Boxed Eave RV Carport (also called the Boxed Eave style) is our most popular RV Carport. It has a traditional roof line that many homeowners choose because it complements the look of their home. It’s inexpensive, quick to assemble, but offers solid construction and looks great.

The Boxed Eave RV Carport is available in sizes ranging from 18′ wide by 21′ long — perfect for one average-sized recreational vehicle with room to comfortably get around it — to 24′ wide by 41′ long, which can comfortably fit the largest RV with room to spare. It ranges in height from 13′ to 16′ tall, so even your largest RV should have plenty of clearance. It’s constructed with 14 gauge galvanized steel framing with double base rails, double legs, center bracing, and 29 gauge metal roofing. All base units have double legs spread 5′ on center or less, and four leg braces for added strength and stability. Concrete or mobile home ground anchors are included.

Many optional features are available to customize the look and enhance the durability of your Boxed Eave RV Carport. For example, gable ends can be added to the front and/or back of the carport, and an ornamental star or eagle comes free with a front gable purchase if you’d like. Side panels that only come down part of the way to the ground are also available to provide additional protection against wind, sun, and rain, and they add stability to the unit. Or, your Boxed Eave RV Carport can be fully enclosed with a garage door frame outs or garage doors ranging from 6′ by 7′ to 12′ by 12′. Walk out doors and windows are also available. L-trim is used to protect you and your family from the exposed edge of the steel, but J-trim is available as an option for an even more finished look.

When built and installed properly, the Boxed Eave RV Carport is rated to handle up to 35 pounds per square foot (psf) snow load. That’s generally more than enough to handle any storm we see in the United States as it allows for nearly two feet of the heaviest, wettest snow you can imagine. Of course, if Mother Nature decides to nail us with something awful, you may want to go out and rake some snow off your Boxed Eave RV Carport’s roof. And, if lots of heavy snow is a routine fact of life where you live, upgrading to a Vertical RV Carport may be wise, since its vertically-installed roof panels make it much easier for snow and ice to slide right off, while also enhancing structural stability and looking even nicer.

The Boxed Eave RV Carport is also rated to withstand winds up to 140 miles per hour, which will hopefully outlast any storm you ever have to face. It’s important to note that stability in heavy winds depends on the RV carport being installed properly, preferably on a concrete footing. Other optional upgrades for added strength and stability include 12 gauge framing, extra panels, extra roof bows, and welded trusses. And, if you’re planning to spend a lot of time in your RV Carport, (Man Cave anyone?) you can fully enclose it and add insulation so it stays comfortably warm or cool.
